Know the Necessity of Teacher Training Courses

Teachers are social engineers entrusted with the responsibility of building a nation. The teachers are looked up to as the first guide or mentors after our parents. We cannot deny the fact that some of our teachers have played a very pivotal role in shaping our lives and help us in reaching the point where we lie today.  I am sure you would agree with me on the point that the role of a teacher is not just limited to giving us academic knowledge. However, their role expands further and also contributes significantly in shaping our character and molding us into better beings.

The teachers excise significant amount of power in the building or shaping of our career. I am sure many of you would agree with me on the point that at some point of time or other in our lives we have all wanted to role play our teachers. We also cannot deny the fact that teaching has always been a noble profession. We would often come across a number of Teacher Training Course.  Some of these are the D.ED courses, B.ED courses, DET course and so on.

Teacher Training Courses

The requirements of each of these individual courses have been different and each trains an individual to different levels of skill sets. As we all know, the Teacher Training Courses have been particularly gaining importance. It is an absolute necessary to cover a teacher training course for any individual aspiring to become a teacher. In this module, we would like to discuss little bit about the Diploma in Education and Training also known as the DET Course.  It is two year part time course designed for the ones who are in full time teaching profession. The students will be eligible to apply for qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) on completion of the course. Therefore, after completion of the course you will be entitled to teach in variety of secondary schools. The qualification replaces the City and Guilds DTLLS qualification and makes you professionally enabled to apply in some of your dream schools. Once you complete the course you are entitled to work in a number of public and private sectors as well as in vocational settings.

The course consists of 6 modules and 20 credits which could be studied over duration of two years and comprises of the following:

Introduction to teaching and learning
Assessment
Applying theory to practice
Curriculum
Policy Professional Practice
Reflecting on Practice

I am sure that many of us often go through this dilemma that which teacher training course should be perfect or tailor made to meet our needs. You would agree with me that there are many such courses advertised online. However, some of the factors which often play a critical role in helping us choose our courses are the applicability and the course fee. You can be rest assured about the course fees as it is run in collaboration with Canterbury Christ Church University which provides sufficient relaxation on the course fees. Secondly you can always trust the applicability, as it makes you professionally ready to teach across wider platforms.
